RVing Basics

Motorized RVs

Class A Motor Homes are the largest and most luxurious of the motorized RVs, a virtual "home away from home" on wheels, fully loaded and equipped for short trips or full-timing. The Class A is entirely constructed on a bare, specially designed motor vehicle chassis, and is available in either diesel or gas models.

Class B Motor Homes are basically cargo vans that have been customized to include temporary sleeping, eating and bathroom facilities.

Class C Motor Homes often referred to as mini-motor homes, provide the conveniences of a larger motor home in a scaled down version and at a lower price. The Class C is built on an automotive manufactured van frame with an attached cab section.

Towable RVs

Fifth Wheel Trailers
are designed to be hitched to, and towed by, a pickup equipped with a special hitch in the truck bed. These bi-level units can provide the greatest living of all towable RVs. Fifth wheels come equipped with all the comforts of home, and can be detached at your destination, freeing the tow vehicle for travel.

Conventional Travel Trailers can be towed by certain cars, SUVs, vans and pickups. Travel trailers attach to the towing vehicle with a bumper or frame hitch. They also can be detached for convenient local travel to and from the campsite.
